Megan’s Approach to Teaching
I facilitate development of creativity through visual art techniques and exercises. I ground my teaching in radical acceptance, non-judgment, and in the experience of emotion, truth and beauty. Every person has a unique creative voice. Understanding materials and techniques is a foundational skill for self knowledge and expression. I encourage my students to explore materials with curiosity while supporting them with extensive knowledge about the supplies and sharing my deep artistic experience in service of co-discovering pathways and troubleshooting problems. My workshops offer a supportive container for individuals that are interested in visual arts, particularly painting and drawing techniques. I have found through my own workshop experiences that learning happens not only from teacher to student but also peer to peer. I enjoy guiding collaboration for individual learning. I am a facilitator for individuals seeking to find their own path in visual arts.
