Ky Guse, PhD, is a microbiome scientist, educator, health mentor and founder of The Living Food Initiative, where she explores the connections between fermentation, microbes, food systems, and human health. Her research spans human, plant, and soil microbiomes using multi-omics approaches, with a focus on how fermented foods influence microbial ecology. A former co-owner of GYST Fermentation Bar in Minneapolis, Ky is passionate about translating microbiome science and fermentation into accessible, community-centered experiences that reconnect people through food, the environment, and our microbial relationships.
